As I research various practical subjects, I find two classes of information. One category seems to have been written by professional authors who go to the library, study everything they can find on the subject, and then sit down and write a book or article. The second class are often less skilled in literary lines, but have spent years working in a particular area. When they finally take time to sit down and write a book about the thing they have developed a high level of skill at doing, it is worth reading. They know what information is really needed to make the job go smoothly. They know the “tricks” that get the job done with a fraction of the effort. And they don’t weigh you down with a lot of unnecessary information that is not really needed and/or may not actually work.

In this book and video, George White and his son Frank give you, in a very compact form, the most necessary details and information to help you make good, functional, properly-fitted moccasins. They have put a tremendous amount of work into learning what the most common Native American designs were, how to make them, and finally, how to tell you what you most need to know. I wish I had found this information sooner. It would have saved me a lot of time and effort.
